Jacobs ladder is a popular nickname applied to a public pathway with a large number of steps. In most religions, Jacobs ladder is often dipicted as a "stairway to heaven" thus why the name is so commonly applied.
I believe this to be the original one in Brighton & Hove and was used as a cut through to the old Bevendean hospital.
I have fond childhood memories of playing amongst the woodland and counting the 100+ steps which I hope others will enjoy also !
There is plenty of free parking at The Avenue and Jevington Drive These steps are very steep for small children and can be quite muddy
