Geocache Description:

A cache and dash near the Model Yachting Lake in Southampton Common

This is a series of three geocaches, varying in difficulty, placed around or very near the three lakes in Southampton Common. These are the first traditional caches to be placed in the Common. It's one of the greenest spaces in Southampton, and is ideal for a nice day out walking with friends, or the dog, or even to have a nice picnic on a sunny day. I hope these caches will help you to discover this gem of a park. Who knows, you might even stop off to get an ice cream, or spend some time in the play area.

This cache is placed near the Model Yachting Lake. Much like its name, it was used for sailing model yachts. However, nowadays, it's less popular, but gives a nice view of the common. Some sailing of model yachts on the lake can be seen in the pictures.

This is the peskiest of the three (a nano of course). You're looking for a silver small metal canister where you can unscrew the lid to get to the log. Make sure to replace it exactly as it was found. Permission obtained from Hawthorns Urban Wildlife Centre.
