AGHHH!, AGH, YAH, yah!. This is a mid distance trip over mostly flat terrain on the matanuska river plain that goes as far upstream as you can conveniently walk into the matanuska canyon. You will be able to see the tortured geology of the talkeetna mountains, the huge amount of debris swept down by the Mat, and the remanant of the rail grade that went from matanuska junction on the hayflats to sutton/chickaloon. A good starting point for this trip is moose creek area.
