Mid distance trip into the matanuska river canyon
Pleasant trip out across the matanuska river plain and a ways into the canyon. You will be able to see the geology of the area, a large amount of debris swept downstream by the Mat and the remains of the rail grade that goes from matanuska junction to sutton/chickaloon. Best place to start this trip is at moose creek. Good place to see eagles and beavers.
