It’s always fun to see the great Halloween costumes that kids wear. Last year, I decided to keep track of their costumes. After putting on my costume (an ancient Roman Emperor), I started keeping track:
- First was a little boy dressed as a Minnesota Twin. I asked who he was and he told me Frank Vola. “Don’t you mean Frank Viola, the great pitcher” I asked. “Nope, I am Frank VoLa” he insisted. I gave him a Baby Ruth and he headed out.
- A few minutes later, a group of 3 firefighters came by using their helmets for the candy.
- Next, came a little girl dressed as a doctor. When I asked her what kind of doctor she was, she said that she was an “ex-doctor, do you know how stressful being a doctor can be”? It sure seemed like she was a little young to already be stressed from her job.
- The next group was much bigger than the others. There was an Elvis, 3 engineers and 2 veterinarians and each vet had a little dog dressed up as a fox.
- I was a little surprised when a boat pulled up and the Viking and pirate stole all the candy left in the bowl. It was a good thing that I still had a little more left in the bags (the good ones that I was saving for myself).
- The last group of the night was a bunch of turtles: there was 4 snapping turtles, 2 box turtles and 2 ninja turtles (Leonardo and Raphael)
With my candy all gone, I turned off the porch light and worked on some puzzles while watching highlights from Superbowl XLVII.
Puzzle notes: figure out each individual costume then add them for the group. Also, I know that some of the values are not the traditional way, but the general rules apply.

You can validate your puzzle solution with certitude.
