Rondje Venenlaankwartier :
Het
Venenlaankwartier is een wijk in de Westfriese stad Hoorn.
De wijk ligt tegen de binnenstad aan. De wijk is rond 1910 gebouwd en was samen met Hoorn-Noord de eerste stadsuitbreiding buiten de singels. Het Roode Dorp aan de Venenlaan werd in 1910 in gebruik genomen.
Het rooie dorp
't Rooie Dorp is het eerste complex van arbeidswoningen dat na de inwerkingtreding van de Woningwet van 1902 in Hoorn werd gebouwd. De nu nog aanwezige 28 woningen vormen de twee hofjes aan de Venenlaan. Ze hebben sinds de bouw in 1909 een roerige geschiedenis gekend, met als climax de overgang van het complex naar de Stichting Stadsherstel, die de hofjes in 1992 liet restaureren. Naast de bouwgeschiedenis van het complex wordt ook aandacht besteed aan de bewoners van de woningen. Het ontstaan van Woningbouwvereniging 'Arbeidersbelang' wordt belicht tegen de achtergrond van de woningtoestand in Hoorn rond de eeuwwisseling.

The
Venenlaanquarter is a quarter in the Westfrisian city of Hoorn..
The quarter is located next to the old city centre. The quarter has been built around 1910 and was the first city expansion outside of the centre canals. Het Roode dorp (red village) in the Venenlaan opened its doors in 1910.
The red village
‘T Rooie Dorp
(The red village) is the first complex of labourers homes built in Hoorn after the 1902 Law of Housing. The 28 still existing houses formed two courts at the Venenlaan. Ever since they were built in 1909, they had a roaring history, with climax the transfer of the houses in 1922 to the cities department of recovery, that had the houses renovated in 1992. The complex pays attention to the building history and the inhabitants of the houses and is characteristic for the 1900’s housing situation.
