This cache is located on a network of old roads on Kootenai National Forest ground on Sheldon Flats just north of Libby. The roads are closed to wheeled-motorized vehicles (e.g., ATVs, UTVs, motorcycles, cars/trucks), so please remember to follow the rules. Please get a free current version of the Motor Vehicle Use Map from the local Forest Service offices if you have questions. Although it is illegal to use wheeled-motorized vehicles, these old roads are great for hiking, biking, or horses. The terrain is mellow, the woods are fairly open, and we've seen deer, moose, coyotes, turkeys, and other wildlife while hiking and biking the trails. Parking can be found in several locations along the Pipe Creek Road, with one site located at N 48o 24.813', W 115o 32.688. The cache itself is large enough to have items to trade. It was intended to be kid friendly, but may require some hiking or biking to reach. We placed the cache using our bikes and brought along our 5 and 2 year old children. There is a nice view into the Cabinet Mountains near the cache.
