Geocache Description:

A visit to Sant'Agata sui Due Golfi, a village between the Sorrento Coast and the Amalfi Coast.

Sant'Agata sui Due Golfi is a nice village between Coasts of Sorrento and Amalfi; in details, it is 6 Km far from Sorrento and 32 Km far from Amalfi.

The little village is located on a ridge above the Bay of Naples and the Gulf of Salerno, and its name suffix "Sui Due Golfi" (Italian for "upon two gulfs") is referred to its location, that lies on a hill between the two gulfs. From Sant’Agata you can enjoy a wonderful view of the surrounding hill and of the sea.

Since the 19th century, tourists come to Sant’Agata from all over the word, for its beautiful landscape, its healthy climate and for the hospitality of the locals. Its strategic position permits to do trips and hikes into the wonderful and scenic surroundings.

It is worth a visit the Benedictine Monastery of San Paolo al Deserto, where you can see a great view of the Gulfs of Naples and Salerno. Inside you can find wonderful majolica tiled rooms.

Sant’Agata sui due Golfi is especially well-known for the gourmet restaurant Don Alfonso 1890, situated at the Piazza. It is the twelve Italy’s most famous restaurants.
