Geocache Description:

The Allegheny Rangers have decided to develop a "Guided Tour" through Jefferson and Clearfield Counties. All of the caches have been placed along the road and there should be plenty of room to pull over.  

 

On April 27, 1905, an explosion in the Eleanora mine shaft killed 13 miners.  For many years, the Eleanora mine had been one of the largest mines in Western Pennsylvania and at one time employed over 1,000 men.
