ATTENTION ALL GEOcacher's:
Several years ago, while workers were clearing brush to build Lakewood Park Regional Park, they accidentally stumbled across a secet underground crypt, that had been hidden in the brush and scrub here. Because no one could understand the strange markings and writing inscribed on the crypt's entrance, the curious workers opened it. By doing so, they released the horde of vampires that had been sealed inside.
Unable to contain the situation and not wanting to cause panic, desperate local authorities had no other choice but to seek out a local man known only as Howler, who was a self proclaimed expert on all things undead. Unfortunately Howler, also knew nothing about the crypt that had been found. After several days of conducting research, speaking to some friends in both high and low places and capturing one of the vampires from the crypt, who was not a threat to anyone, Howler was able to learn the crypt, had been built by a secret society, on a mission to rid the world of all undead creatures, both good and bad.
Knowing that he can't handle the situation on his own, Howler is now calling on some of his fellow hunters, for help. While, Howler is willing and able to hunt down the dangerous vampires, tat he has already identified, he needs help identifying the rest.
Fellow hunters, if you are brave enough to take on this quest, your job is to identify the eight remaining vampires, determine which of those eight are dangerous and which are not, and then pass that information onto Howler's assistant. Good Luck, and happy hunting. .
The cache is located inside Lakewood Park Regional Park. There is plenty of parking, bathrooms and other caches in the park to find. The park is open from sunrise to sunset, daily. To reach the cache, follow the walking path to the eastern side of the park. The cache itself, is not located along the main path, but can be reached via a side trail. The entrance to this trail, is located on the west side of the path, almost directly across from a large oak. Depending on the time of year, some light bushwhacking may be required, but not much. Watch your set for fallen branches and the usual hazards found in the type of terrain present. You will find the cache hanging in a host. Please do not take it down. You can open the lid and pull out it's contents to examine them. When you're through, please replace all eight game peices back inside the cache, and close it's lid securely. Please do not leave swag in the cache. If there are not eight coffins inside the cache, please let me know and if possible, which are missing. They are numbered 1 - 8.
Clues to identify each of the vampires, can be found inside their respective coffins. Most should be easy to identify, but not all. I know for a fact that one, will be very difficult to answer for many people. Be prepared to take notes (pictures of the coffins and their interiors), but please do not take the coffins, so that other hunters, can enjoy the game as well. All of the answers can be found via internet. When you think that you have all the answers, send them to me via E-mail. If you have any wrong answers, I will let you know which. Feel free to work on this as a team and share the fun. If answering as a team, be sure to list the profile names of each member of your team, in your e-mail. That way you only have to send one. Thanks for play and have fun.
Solving the puzzle of the identity of the vampires is optional and if you so choose to solve the puzzle then please email your answers to us. Please do not post your answers to the identities in your log.
