Important Information
This event will be held on the summit of Mt Gingera, the second highest peak in the ACT. All are welcome, but please review the information to see if this event is for you.
The walk is a 16 km return trip. The first 6.5 km are on relatively flat fire trails via Pryor's Hut and former arboretum. The final ascent is steep (160 metres over 1km), but not steep enough to require hand rails or steps and is on a well-formed foot track.
Please review the disclaimer from Groundspeak linked above and realise that you attend this event at your own risk, taking full responsibility for your own health and well-being. Remember, while I am facilitating this walk you must be able to make it to the summit under your own steam.
Logistics
Please log your intent to attend and we will try to arrange car pools for the 1.5 hour drive to the trailhead. There will be plenty of time to complete the walk, but bring enough food for morning tea and lunch, plus all the water you intend to drink as there is no water available on the walk. I will carry 3 litres.
Sturdy shoes are a must, as is sun screen and a good hat.
The road beyond Bulls Head can be closed due to inclement weather, so be sure to keep an eye on the event page for any changes.
