Grand Falls signed a Municipal Wetlands Stewardship Agreement in 1998. The agreement represents a formal public committment by the community and the province to act together to conserve wetlands for waterfowl. It empowers a community to set aside important wetlands for long-term conservation within designated areas for the benefit of present and future generations. Wetlands are conserved within 2 Management Units within Grand Falls' municipal boundaries. These management units are the Little Rushy Pond Management Unit and the Corduroy Brook Management Unit.
The conservation of wetlands depends not wholly on conservation plans or regulations but on the stewardship ethic of residents and visitors like yourself!
Why Conserve Wetlands?
