One of our favorite places to hike! The kiddos know the trails like the back of their hands.... Choose your trail wisely.....there are a couple to pick from! The cache is about a mile from the parking lot, so plan for a nice walk through the woods. Cache is less than 50ft from the trail, no real bushwhacking required. If you pick the right trail, it will put you really, really close. There is parking at the trail head and a small fee is charged, in a honor box, by Maryland State Parks ($3 in-state, $5 out-of -state). Trail is rated as "moderate", but the kids handle it pretty easily. Round trip is apx. 2 miles. Bring some water and a sturdy pair of shoes. And, as always, beware of snakes, bears, biting bugs, rats, wild elephants, poison ivy, tigers, wolves, crazy teens and any other form of wild life. Most of all, HAVE FUN!
