I'll be the Angel Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

SnitchSeekers03: Ever since the hollowed-out stump that served as a host rotted away this location has been non-stop replacement - between humans that steal it and animals that destroy it. Anyone that uses this side of the preserve in the future I wish them better luck. Happy caching!

Geocache Description:

Nature Trail 10:00 - 3:00 Entry is free; donations help mission to rehabilitate injured wildlife.

Standard Geocache container can hold small items. Last bit is off trail and getting a bit overgrown. Possible that poison ivy has grown into the area.  BYOP

When my sister was a young teenager she wrote a poem she titled I’ll be the Angel.  My mom found it while cleaning one day and mentioned that it was beautiful.  It was dismissed in a fit of teenaged angst.  Not that long afterwards she died unexpectedly in a car accident at the age of 15.  I read her poem at her funeral service in front of at least 300 people.  Many commented that the poem was not only beautiful but also prophetic.

That was over 15 years ago and I still like sharing it.  When you find the cache you will find her poem.  Please leave it in the cache.  If you want it, send me a message and I’d be happy to send it to you.

The tree cover in here makes GPS a little jumpy, but the ranger confirmed my cords with his device when I set it up.  The original host sadly decomposed to almost nothing - goodbye my beautiful stump. The new cache should be tree friendly while also thwarting the thieving wildlife that caused this one to wander and finally disappear. New container should be impervious to water.  We shall see.
