Geocache Description:

Part of my unnumbered Who Was S/He? series, looking at historical/important people who have shaped the naming of our streets an buildings in Worcester. This one is about Blessed Edward Oldcorne - the person, not the school! The cache is not at the above co-ordinates, those are co-ordinates for the back gate of the school. All the answers to this puzzle can be found on the internet. You will need a pen and possibly tweezers.

Blessed Edward Oldcorne or Oldcorn alias Hall (b. 1561; executed 7 April 1606) was an English Jesuit priest. He was known to people who knew of the Gunpowder Plot to destroy the Parliament of England and kill King James I; and although his involvement is unclear, he was caught up in the subsequent investigation. He is a Roman Catholic martyr, and was beatified in 1929.

The cache can be found at N52 A.BCD W002 E.FGH

A= (Age at death / 5) + 1

B= He worked in Worcestershire for __ amount of years. Add the two digits of this number together.

C= Oldcorne went on pilgrimage to St Winefride's Well in this year: add the single digits of the year together to make this number.

D= The Ven. Edward Oldcorne is recorded in the Catholic Encyclopedia  (1913), Volume ___. Divide the first digit by the second digit to find this number.

E= Number of years he spent at Hindlip Hall, minus 2.

F= Total number of letters of the place in Worcester where he was executed.

G= The number of his letters that are at Stonyhurst.

H= If Edward Oldcorne had been part of the Gunpowder Plot, how many participants would there have been? Add the two digits of this number together.

Good luck! I would avoid the GZ around the beginning and end of the school day....

Congratulations to Roughies and Teddy85 for your joint FTF :)
