NAA – Native American Arrowhead Series
Welcome to the 3rd installment of the NAA series! This is the first NAA installment to be placed in Wyoming (the other 2 are located in Douglas County, Colorado). This installment is a piece of "GeoArt" that will require a short hike to find.
This NAA unit consists of 23 caches, placed in the shape of a projectile point (what else would it be??). All caches are placed on Wyoming State Trust Land, which is open to the public for recreational use. I suggest parking at the pullout on Highway 34 at N 41 34.378 W 105 39.099. By parking here (or across the highway at the opposite side pull out) you will have easy gate access to either the northern or southern side of the series. On the east side of the art, there is an option to open a gate and walk beneath the highway through a large drainage culvert (this would eliminate hopping the fence). There is a high possibility of encountering standing water in the culvert (I did when placing the series), so expect to get your feet wet if you try the culvert passage option.
A few personal comments and wishes:
Please DO NOT treat this as a power trail. You will be walking to most/all of the caches in this series; that being said, please take your time. Reseal all logs in bags (where necessary) and please hide the caches back as you find them. No need to rush.
PLEASE, NO "LEAP-FROGGING" THE CONTAINERS - This isn't meant to be a number-boosting power trail experience. Keep the original containers in their original spots, as many of them where purposefully chosen to fit a specific location.
If a log or container in damaged, please feel free to replace either one, I would greatly appreciate the help!
This series would be best completed in the absence of snow. All caches are at ground level.
Good luck and have fun!
