La cache si trova vicino al Lago delle Streghe presso la magnifica conca dell’Alpe Veglia.
Raggiungete in auto il paese di Varzo (VB) quindi seguite le indicazioni per “San Domenico”. Dopo aver raggiunto tale località proseguite ancora sulla strada in direzione “Nembro”/”Ponte Campo” dove, nei pressi di un ponte, termina l’asfalto (WP1). Vista la scarsità di posti auto vi consiglio di parcheggiare nel piazzale antistante il ponte (a pagamento, 3€ da tarda primavera fino a settembre). Nei pressi c’è un agriturismo che, quando aperto, offre gustosi pranzi e merende.
Dal parcheggio attraversate il ponte e immediatamente sulla destra troverete il sentiero che sale fino a intersecare la strada sterrata che porta all’Alpe Veglia. Percorretela fino al punto in cui si apre la bellissima conca quindi svoltate a sinistra (WP2) in direzione dell’agglomerato di baite di Cianciavero, infine seguite le indicazioni “Lago delle Streghe” (sentiero a destra delle case). Attraverserete un bellissimo lariceto che in autunno offre meraviglioso scorci. La cache si trova poco distante dal piccolo lago e consiste in una scatola di alluminio. Contiene: logbook, 3 matite, temperino, foglio di avviso (tutti da non asportare). ATTENZIONE: per piacere rimettetela a posto accuratamente in posizione VERTICALE!!! Grazie
Trovata la cache vi consiglio di tornare verso l’Alpe (direzione est) per compiere un ampio giro intorno alla conca, un posto – insieme alla poco distante Alpe Devero – unico nelle Alpi. Se volete al punto WP3 potrete assaggiare un’acqua ferruginosa che esce da una sorgente nella roccia. Io la trovo disgustosa ma dicono sia salutare! Sempre proseguendo il giro, potrete trovare vari posti dove mangiare, caratteristico il “vecchio” rifugio CAI Città di Arona (WP4)

The cache is located near the “Lago delle Streghe” at the magnificent basin of “Alpe Veglia”. Drive to the village of “Varzo” then follow the signs to "San Domenico". After reaching that location still go on the road in the direction of "Nembro" / "Ponte Campo" where, near a bridge, the asphalt ends (WP1). Given the scarcity of parking places I recommend you park in front of the bridge (fee 3 € from late spring until September). Nearby is a farm that, when opened, offers tasty lunches and snacks.
From the parking area, cross the bridge and immediately turn right at the path that climbs up to cross the dirt road that leads to “Alpe Veglia”. Follow it up to the point where you open the beautiful valley and then turn left (WP2) in the direction of the agglomeration of huts “Cianciavero”, finally follow the signs for "Lago delle Streghe" (path to the right of the houses). You will cross a beautiful larch forest that in autumn offers wonderful views. The cache is located not far from the small lake and consists of an aluminum box. Contains: logbook, 3 pencils, pencil sharpener, paper warning (all not remove). WARNING: please put it back in place carefully in a VERTICAL position !!! Thanks
Found the cache I recommend you go back to the Alpe (eastbound) to make a wide turn around the basin, a place - along with the nearby Alpe Devero - unique in the Alps. If you want you can go to WP3 where you can enjoy “ferruginous water” comes from a spring in the rock. I find it disgusting but they say it's healthy! Still continuing the tour, you will find several places to eat, characteristic is the "old" refuge of CAI (Italian Alpine Club) “Città di Arona” (WP4)
