Lake Griffin State Park started in 1946. As it's name states, it is located off of Lake Griffin, one of Lake County's largest lakes. This is a great park for day use or camping. There are picnic shelters, a boat ramp, nature trail, and full facility campground. Day use fee is $5.00 a vehicle with up to 8 people, $4.00 single, or $2.00 walk-in. They also accept donations at the entrance station. Pets are allowed in the day use areas on a 6' leash. The entrance to the park has been changed and this cache is now within the Park boundries, so a fee will apply.
The actual "cache" is a huge (really really BIG) live oak that you just have to see to believe. It will take you only a minute to walk to it, but if you like trees as I do, you will stay much longer.
Enjoy this wonder of nature,
