Cache is hidden at the top of one of the tallest trees in the beautiful Eureka Park.
I found an amazing HUGE Oak tree with 2 trunks that both reach much higher than of all other trees around. I spent 5 minutes or so looking at it, wondering how in the heck I'm gonna get up this beast of a tree. Wearing only hiking boots basket ball shorts and a thin tee shirt I threw caution to the wind and started my ascent. It was very slow going, strenuous and painful getting to the first branch small enough to wrap my body around. After about 20 feet up I was tired and thought there's no going back now, gotta keep reaching for the sky! Completely exhausted I finally broke through to the top of the canopy! I could clearly see the tennis courts and play ground from my position in the sky! I pulled out my bison tube and tether and secured it in place at the top. I opened the camo bison tube to make sure I put a log in it and to my horror I had forgot! I sat up at the very top for about 10 minutes enjoying the breeze and cursing myself. Getting down I think was more painful than going up and even more scary but I made it with most of my skin still intact. I sat on the ground for about 5 minutes wondering if I had it in me to do this all over again to put the log sheet in. Back up I go! I must say I have climbed many trees and hidden many caches in tall trees but this was the toughest one yet! WARNING!! I WOULD NOT climb this tree without safety gear and harness unless you are a very experienced climber!! Bring a friend for sure and I would highly recomend climbing gear.
