Moor How is a small hillock on the ridge separating Windermere from the Winster Valley. To the south is Gummer's How, to the north Great Tower (the Scout campsite). It gives a really good view in pretty much all directions, and is a pleasant grassy summit with some interesting rocks.
Access: come up via the footpath from the caravan site below, or from High Ludderburn, see GC1A1MQ. The summit and field to the west are owned by the National Trust so access is fine. If you come via the CROW access land to the NE you would have to cross a wall.
CAUTION: some of the inviting crevices, which would be good for a cache, have broken glass from (presumably) caravanners sitting on the top watching the sunset with a few drinks, but too lazy to take the empties back down. Take care searching, and this is why we used a small vial (micro) instead of a larger one, and in a hole which is unlikely to have glass added. Any CITO action would be much appreciated.
