This is my home village and in my opinion definitely worth a visit, preferably for a leisurely walk to see all of its points of interest, to read about it's colourful history or just to grab the caches available. Famed for its history, Old Basing in north-east Hampshire, UK, shot to fame in 1645 when Oliver Cromwell led his troops in the English Civil War to end a two year siege of the great Basing House – home to the loyalist Paulet family.
