The Church of St Michael and All Angels was a Chapel Royal - known as a Royal Peculiar - until the 1850s. Until the Reformation, the church and its lands were managed by a College of Canons - a small monastery. The tower was built in the 1480s but the chancel certainly dates from the 1200s.
The interior was restructured during the 1880s when Cecil Littleton, the son of Lord Hatherton, was vicar.
It is a large Parish church, which reflects the wealth of the area when it was built in medieval times.
There are interesting Littleton tombs inside the church, which are worth visiting.
