Uncle George
I was up at the Van Alstyne Cemetery today kinda bummed that there are no more Geocaches here. Wandering down to the NE section, I spotted the lonely grave of my 2nd Great Grand Uncle, George Williams. I always heard he loved horses and adventures. I bet he would have loved Geocaching if they had it in his day. He died quite young of diabetes, and is buried next to his parents, who would be my 3rd Great Grandparents. Use extreme caution when visiting his tombstone. It's currently leaning heavily and needs to be cemented down (which I will do soon). I would hate for it to tumble over and break. It's not big enough to harm anyone. Cache is only a few feet from him.
This side of the cemetery is located behind the Church of Christ. Use caution on Sundays. Have fun, and good luck! I'm sure George is honored that I named my first cache after him!
Edit-Cemetery hours are sunrise--sunset. Night caching is discouraged because neighbors might call police. **'Uncle George' is the 1st Geocache placed in the Van Alstyne area dedicated to my ancestors CONGRATS TO: STERLING&LANA AND TECHIEGRL64 ON A CO-FTF!
