Forest is a small rural community. The main industry is agriculture. The town consists of a general store, two churches, cemetery and sports centre with tennis court and playground. There is a school that has 135 students from Kinder to Grade 6.
The Forest Sports Centre is also known as the "Blackberry". This complex consists of an oval, tennis court and club rooms. A playground has also been built on the site. This building was officially opened on June 18th, 1983.
