Geocache Description:

In 2014, Halloween is Celebrated on Friday October 31

This is the twenty-sixth cache, in the growing series “Let’s Celebrate”, which recognizes a wide variety of religious and cultural celebrations within this great country of Canada.

Background Information

On Halloween Evening (All Hallows Eve) children dress up as ghosts, witches, skeletons or other characters to visit homes in their neighborhood. They ring doorbells and call out "trick-or-treat". In exchange for not playing a “trick”, they are given candy or another “treat”.

Some people decorate their yards. while others may construct life-size replica graveyards or dungeons and invite people from the neighborhood to view their creations. Others may organize fancy dress parties for adults or children.

Halloween has Celtic origins. People believed spirits from the underworld could visit the world of the living on the night of October 31. These spirits could harm the living or take them back to the underworld.  People started dressing up as ghosts and spirits in hopes of confusing the ghosts and spirits. These Halloween traditions were brought to Canada by Irish and Scottish immigrants.

Now for the Cache!

This is a Night Cache.  Creepy Creepy.

There are two reflective paths you can take to reach the final.

Red Trail - The red trail, will give you a quick journey to GZ, but the Terrain is quite steep, likely a 4 or 4.5.  (At night!, Yikes?)  This may not be a wise decision during certain weather, or ground conditions.

White Trail - Definitely the safer route, with a gradual decent, but a much longer walk in order to reach GZ.  May be wet at certain times of the year and, I’m sure, many more bugs.

You will know when you reach the final, as two yellow reflectors will mark GZ.

Head to the posted coordinates, to start your adventure! Your choice, which path will you choose?

Welcome to Bug Finders Haunted Forest.  Can you Handle it?
