1. Introduzione
La Collegiata fu progettata, nella seconda metà del Settecento, dall'architetto Matteo Zucchi, sulla base di una preesistente chiesa romanica, di cui rimangono il portale centrale e un'architrave istoriato con il bassorilievo raffigurante Carlo Magno durante la celebre battaglia di Roncisvalle.
L'elegante facciata è piuttosto austera e si presenta impreziosita dal Seicentesco protiro affrescato, con angeli musicanti, da Carlo Mellerio, artista proveniente dalla vicina Val Vigezzo.
All'interno si possono ammirare numerosi capolavori, opera di celebri artisti ossolani come Giorgio de Bernardis, autore del grande Crocifisso posto sopra l'altare maggiore, o come Lorenzo Peretti, al quale si devono invece i bellissimi catini delle navate. Il grande quadro in coro, che raffigura i Santi Gervasio e Protasio e la Madonna Assunta, è di Carlo Giuseppe Borgnis detto lo "Sparsicin", pittore vigezzino.
Di fianco all'abside sorge il campanile, caratterizzato per la sua solida costruzione.
Come arrivare
In auto: dalla A26 proseguire oltre Gravellona Toce lungo la Superstrada del Sempione, uscendo a Domodossola.
In treno: la stazione internazionale di Domodossola è capolinea delle linee ferroviarie Domodossola-Milano e Domodossola-Novara, inoltre dalla stazione partono numerosi treni diretti alla vicina Svizzera. Al di sotto della stazione trae origine la linea Domodossola-Locarno, meglio conosciuta come "Vigezzina".

1. Introduction
The Collegiate was designed in the second half of the eighteenth century by the architect Matteo Zucchi, on the basis of a previous Romanesque church, which remain the central portal and a lintel with the bas-relief depicting Charlemagne during the famous battle of Roncesvalles.
The elegant facade is rather austere and is enhanced by the seventeenth-century frescoed porch, with Musician Angels, by Charles Mellerio, an artist from nearby Val Vigezzo.
Inside you can admire numerous masterpieces by famous Ossolanim artists such as Giorgio de Bernardis , author of the great crucifix above the altar majeure, or as Lorenzo Peretti, to whom we owe the beautiful bowls instead of the aisles.
The big picture in the choir, depicting the Saints Gervasio and Protasio and the Madonna Assumption, is by Carlo Giuseppe Borgnis told him "Sparsicin" ‘Vigezzino’ painter.
Side of the apse stands the bell tower, characterized by its solid construction.
HOW TO ARRIVE
By car: from the A26 continue beyon Gravellona Toce along the Highway of the Simplon, exiting at Domodossola.
By train: the International station is the terminus of the railway lines Domodossola-Milan and Domodossola-Novara, also a lot of trains start from the station to nearby Switzerland.
Under the station there is the line Domodossola-Locarno, better known as "Vigezzina."
