Geocache Description:

We will meet from 6:00am to 7:00am to fuel up and talk about the Grave Hop Road Rally. So, get your 4 person teams together and join us for a Barrel of Fun and good food. If you want to join us at the event and not eat, that's okay too! When you arrive at the restaurant, just tell the hostess to take you to John and Laurie's group. We will start the Grave Hop Road Rally at 7:00 am in the North parking lot area. Post a will attend and tell us how many will be coming so they will have everything ready for us. See you there!

Grave Hop Road Rally

The Grave Hop Road Rally is not a race. You do not get any extra points for coming back early, but you can lose points for coming back late.

All teams will be given a set of tasks to complete at local cemeteries in the St. Louis County area. Every task folder, for the teams, is identical. Every team will start at a different cemetery. It is possible that two teams could end up in the same cemetery over time, so you may want to plan ahead for this. The more time you spend at each cemetery increases the chance of another group catching you. There is no rule that says your team can not return to any cemetery. We only ask that you only visit the cemeteries on the list.

Each team can have a maximum of 4 people and 1 car. No more, but your team can have less. To qualify for a task or bonus point, a picture must be taken with all of the team members in the picture at the same time. If the monument or grave stone is on the ground surface, I will accept 4 sets of feet in the picture. Only 1 digital camera or phone can be used for the rally by your team. So someone in your team should be selected as the photographer, the driver, the navigator, and the gopher. A camera stand or tripod is recommended. When the rally is over, the photographer will scan through the pictures for me as I check off the tasks and bonus points completed. The team with the most points will be the winner. There may be geocaches in these cemeteries. You can find them and log them if you like, but they will not change your score, unless they cause your team to be late to the finish.

Please be respectful of your surroundings. If there is a funeral service in the cemetery, avoid it always. If it is in an area that your task requires you to go, do not do the task, go to the next cemetery. If someone is there visiting a grave, avoid them. Please respect their privacy. Do not run in a cemetery. Do not yell so everyone can hear you. Use phones to communicate with each other if you get separated. Other people will think you are just another family visiting the cemetery. Act like it. Drive slowly. There will be a lot of walking.
