Welcome to the 2015 New Year Event

Come join Gonefishen07 and Pprass to help celebrate the New Year.

This event will once again be held at the Family BBQ area at the Wonthaggi Coal Mine. This area is under cover with great BBQ facilities and a fridge to keep your stuff cool, with lots of tree cover and a few table and chairs. The Mine is a fantastic place to explore by yourself or bring the kids they will have a great time. This area has been set up so you may experience what it was like back in the early mining days in Wonthaggi. Most of the work to keep this great place going in done by volunteers, with a few Parks Victoria employees as well. If you so desire there is an opportunity to take a under ground mine tour while you are in the area. The shop/cafe that is nearby will be open the day so if you need anything they will be only to happy to help.

We hope you will join us for a  fun day. These events are a great chance to catch up with old caching friends and even make some new ones. Hopefully we will have a few prizes to give away on the day.

TIME:       11 am TILL 3pm or WHENEVER THE LAST PERSON LEAVES, BUT BE WARNED IF YOU STAY TO LONG YOU HAVE TO HELP ME MILK THE COWS

EVEN THOU THERE IS SOME SEATING PROVIDED PLEASE BRING  A CHAIR OR A BLANKET TO SIT ON.

YOU WILL ALSO NEED TO BRING WHATEVER YOU WOULD LIKE FOR LUNCH. IF YOU ARE PLANNING A BBQ LUNCH THERE ARE GREAT BBQ FACILITIES PROVIDED FOR YOU TO USE.

Announcing the Celebrity Geocacher Cook off.

At this event we will be holding a Celebrity Geocacher Cook off. The cook will be between Chef Ppass representing one cooking style and Chef Mr Coffee representing a different cooking style. Both cooks will be given the same cuts of meat and be given the same time frame to prepare you there best steak dishes. Those attending the event will be the taste tester and you will be asked to vote for the best cooked steak on the day. Just a few rules. They will be both give the same cuts of meat to work with. They are only allowed 3 ingredients. Salt, Pepper and Olive oil. Meat available around 10.30 am and must be ready by 1pm. Meat will be placed on plates with A B C D on them only and ready by 1.15pm for tasting. Taste testers will be given the option to try one piece off each plate and then cast a vote as to which is the best cooked steak on the day. The judges decision is final (That's me [ :)] ).

I would like to say a huge thank you to those who donated the meat for our Celebrity Geocacher chefs to use as with out them this would not happen. Hope to see as many taste tester there for a good fun day.
