St George's Church was opened in 1938 as a Daughter Church of Holy Trinity Church to help to serve the population expansion that occurred in the town of Folkestone between the two World Wars. It has been expanded twice, in 1968 and 1982 to cope with further growth of the local population.
It gained partial independence from Holy Trinity Church in 1990 when it became a separate parish in its own right, although it continues to be a part of the Holy Trinity Benefice.
St George's is still an active place of worship and regular services are held on the site.
