On the old site of Woodilee Hospital, the hospital opened on 22 October 1875. The hospital housed 400 Inmates, making it the largest psychiatric unit in Scotland at the time. On 13th March 1987 due to severe structural defects in the building the hospital was evacuated, eventually causing it to close fully in 2000.
As Of late due to the need for housing, the area has become a highly sought after area for new housing projects. However remnants of the Old hospital still are standing and being used.
Now down to the cache area and a warning. The cache area is commonly frequented by walkers and dog walkers, so subtly is needed. Everything needed is at the cache location for it to be completed. Replace everything as you found it so that its available for the next person please. Do not open the cache by pulling on the wiretie.
Some helpful information. Don't rush but don't go slow. also please make sure that the cache is fully closed before replacing.
