For several years, we have made an annual trek to Brownsville to celebrate Thanksgiving. We have enjoyed many fine caching experiences over the years, including some with beautiful local scenery and some with exceptional creativity. A highlight was several years ago when we hurried out to get a first to find at SuperPages and found a gathering of many other like-minded cachers. We thought it would be fun to throw an event to thank all of you for the fun we’ve had, and to get to know the people whose names we’ve seen over the last few years.
Schedule:
We’ll meet at the food court in the Kitsap Mall at 6:00 pm where there will be socializing and time for those who wish to purchase dinner to eat. At 6:45, we will begin a photo scavenger hunt. At a designated time, all teams will meet back at the starting point with their photos and there will be prizes for the winners. The event will conclude around 8 pm.
Details:
- Teams can be from 1-4 people. Kids can count as people if you want them to, or as bonus team members if they would make your group size too big.
- A list of things to find will be provided. . . Bring a camera so you can document your finds. You may also want to bring a clipboard and pen to make it easier to check things off.
- Your whole team (minus the photographer) must be in every picture. If you go solo, be sure you are skilled in the art of “selfies.”
- Please be aware that taking pictures of or in jewelry stores is not permitted.
- Remember that the mall is a place of business. Please be respectful of the businesses and shoppers sharing their space with us.
We couldn’t do it without yous:
Many thanks to the Kitsap Mall for allowing us to use their facility! Thanks also to gearguru, formerly one of our local crowd and now one of yours, for providing swag for prizes!
