Along US 95 with ample parking
Cache is located inside the Shurz Paiute Indian Reservation which was first opened (at least on paper) on December 8, 1859 when the US General Land Office set aside all the land around Walker Lake "for Indian purposes". After years of negotation, haggling and attempting anyway possible to "retake" most of the reservation back, in 1906 it happened. The reservation was opened on October 29th at which time thousands of "intruders" rushed, Oklahoma style, to claim the land and mining claims. (You heard it right, Nevada had an "Oklahoma Land Rush")
