Geocache Description:

On Highway 95 by Walker lake


 

Joseph Redddeford Walker is believed to be the first white man to visit this lake in 1833.  Jedediah Smith in 1827 and Peter Skene Ogden ln 1829 were in the close vicinity but no proof that they were actually here.

The lake was named for Walker by John C Fremont during his third expedition. in 1845.
