Geocache Description:

The 22nd in a series of monthly meet and greets in Eldersburg at Panera Bread from 6:00PM to 8:00.  Well 21st, we missed May '13.  Be sure to read the entire description below, important details change from month-to-month!  We wouldn't want you to miss anything!

November facts (some welcome, some not so much):

Birth stone=topaz

Birth flower=Chrysanthemum

Zodiac signs are Scorpio & Sagitarius (not to be confused with ProdigiusOne and Alzarius)

North Dakota, South Dakota and Montana all became states in the month of November.

Thanksgiving is held on the 4th Thursday of November.  This is generally a drag for two reasons; one is that few people plan geocaching events for that day (at least in America), and the other is that most everyone eats a turkey (or some portion thereof) that day (see below).

Virtually all Turkeys produced in the United States are artificillay inseminated.  Both ends of that process are done manually by humans.  Very odd creatures humans.

In America, November is peanut butter lovers month, national sleep comfort month, aviation history month, national good nutrition month and national pepper month.

We have found a topaz colored cache, received chrysanthemums as a present for helping hide a cache, gone caching with scorpions and sagitarians (and Alzarians!) (and found actual scorpions while hunting for a cache), found caches in both of the Dakotas and Montana, never hosted an event on the FOURTH Thursday of the month, eaten turkey, [aaaahh we know where you thought this was headed, but no, we have not ever done that!  Seen videos though.  Not for us.], found caches whose containers were peanut butter jars, slept comfortably between caching excursions, in honor of aviation history we have flown to go caching (as well as finding a cache at the Wright Brother's National monument), maintained good nutruition so we could do more caching, and put pepper on our lunch while caching and while hosting 3RD Thursday events.  We've also found a cache on every day in November, so we think that makes us fairly well rounded November cachers.  How about you?

The Carroll County Caching Fellowship  (C3F) (what the heck is that?!?) cordially invites you to enjoy the pleasures of the social side of the geocaching hobby!  Come on out and meet fellow cachers, share stories of your trials and tribulations (or Trials and Tubulations!) in searching for that elusive hide, and swap travel bugs and geocoins.  Here's a chance for you to experience the part of the hobby that doesn't feature poison ivy, ticks, mosquitos, chiggers, leeches, cockleburs, beggar's lice, thorns or greenbriar!  Instead, come observe the oddities of human behavior as your fellow cachers wander 'round the parking lot scribbling down codes from trackable vehicles, shooting photos of each other's nametags, and generally examining each other closely to insure they have not missed a trackable t-shirt or necklace!  Hear tales of DNF woe (bring extra kleenex, would ya'?).  Hear tales of FTF triumph (bring extra champagne will ya'?).

Regular attendees at this monthly event include some truly stellar cachers from our local area, who are filled with caching wisdom, friendly, and eager to share their experience and help answer questions if you need help (Oh....that's what the C3F is!).  We have master puzzle cachers, master woodsmen, geotrail kings and queens, prolific cachers, and once-in-a-whilers.  We have Rogi!  We have bugs!  We have way too much hype and excitement!

By the way, the C3F now has a Google Plus Group which all are free to join.  Please feel free to conatct Zekester & Simon for details.

But beyond all that, with all sincerity, we have a tremendous group of regular attendees who are always looking for ways to give back to the geocaching community, and are truly a pleasure to be around.

Makes you all weepy, don't it?  Ok let's get back to being silly!

WARNING***WARNING****WARNING

Bah.  Pesky government weenies.  Just because there was a huge breakout of zombie travel bugs in Dixie recently doesn't mean it is a problem here.  That's a bunch of malarkey!  There IS NO GOVERNMENT in Eldersburg.  It is just a census designated place (CDP), whatever that means.  Come on out, it'll be just fine!

{insert hidden secret subliminal cache event message here that they won't know about unless they look really close: Blind Tiger}

A new feature for 2014 will be geocaching crash courses. At the beginning of each session, we'll conduct a ten minute crash course in some aspect of geocaching, just to get the juices flowing and the conversations started.  This month's Crash Course topic will be: caching challenges, challenge caches, and the challenges of caching.  Any requests?  Feel free to make a request for a future topic in your 'will attend' log!

Be sure to ask Zekester what "Be the Bug" means!  No, it is not a virus!!!

Also, there are a number of caches nearby in Eldersburg, be sure to check them out!  There's probably a new one just for this event.  There usually is.  ProgKing just can't restrain himself!  There might even be a new Z&S or Deepdish23 hide!  Take a few minutes out from your time at the local speakeasy and come and join us!

For whom: This event is for YOU!!! Regardless of whether you have found a handful of caches or thousands of them, or you just have a burgeoning interest, all are welcome!   We don't bite (well our zombies do, but we don't) , we're really nice!  Honest!  Ask anyone!

When? 6:00PM to 8:00PM, on Tuesday, 18 NOV 2014.

Where? Panera Bread, 6300 Georgetown Boulevard, Eldersburg, Maryland (or just use the convenient coordinates posted above!).

Why? Have dinner.  Meet a cacher.  Tell a tale.  Trade a coin or travel bug.  Meet Rogi! Find out what "Be the Bug" means!

This month's raffle may feature a variety of materials useful to cachers, possibly including, but not limited to: 6 volts of surging power, test tubes, tesla coils, erlenmeyer flasks, leftover unused materials from the zombie vats, surplus from the Mercury program, pathtags, a Winnebago, a haiku puzzle cache, india ink, the ball from an IBM Selectric typewriter, U-bolts, lug nuts, filberts, a pheasant claw, night-vision goggles, marbles, a funnel (it was not used in the production of more turkeys, we promise), two potatoes, and scratch-n'-sniff test cards.

If you pick up a travel bug, please make sure that make sure you log it out so it doesn't show up in the event list.

Odd travelbugs have been known to show up at this event.  Harpoons.  Crocodile heads. Gargoyles.  Auto parts.  What coukld it be this time???
