This area was always known locally as "Haltons" after the family who lived in the little lodge inside the gate.
Many local children down through the years learned to swim in the river here at swimming lessons each summer.
This award winning picnic area has been developed under the watchful eye of a local man, who cares for it on a voluntary basis. Flowers and the pump etc are sponsored by local businesses. Take a peek at all the bird boxes around too.

You can have a nice walk in Bellamont forest too, where there is a loop walk by the lake & back through the forest. There are over 6km of forest walks and oak trees of 170 years old.The forest is famous for deer, with over 200 sitka and wild fallow deer.
The cache is a micro, with room only for a logbook. BYOP.
