Geocache Description:

Saturday, April 18th, 9:00 am to Noon

Wilkes Creek Headwaters
15401 NE Fremont St.
Portland, OR 97230

Celebrate Earth Day as we partner with The Columbia Watershed Council. We’ll be removing invasive English ivy from the headwaters of Wilkes Creek. Managing these aggressive invasive weeds helps make sure that native plants have a chance to establish themselves. Wilkes Creek is a part of the Slough system, so its protection helps advance the Council’s mission to protect, enhance, restore and revitalize the Slough and its watershed.

This event runs rain or shine! Be sure to dress for the weather and bring water, rain gear and sturdy shoes. Snacks, tools, training and gloves will be provided. This opportunity is open to volunteers 16 years and older, unless accompanied by an adult. Volunteers under 18 should contact the Council for a special youth waiver.

Log your attendance on this event page, but you can also help The Council out by filling out their online registration, too: http://columbiaslough.org/index.php/events/event/369/
