Unser Urlaub an der Playa de Palma brachte die Erkenntnis, dass die Region sehr wenig Caches hat, obwohl hier viele Urlauber sind. Unser Hotel war in der Mitte und der nächste Cache am Aquarium war 1,5 km weit weg. Das wollten wir ändern! Deshalb haben wir uns vorgenommen, neue Caches zu legen.
Dieser Platz – eine wichtige Zufahrt zur Playa und S Arenal - wurde nach dem Hotelier Riu benannt, der 1953 in dieser Gegend das Hotel San Franzisco eröffnete und daraus mit seinem Sohn die heute sehr bekannte Hotelkette RIU entwickelte. Eine Skulptur auf dem Platz, die einen Kellner darstellt, kann vom Cache aus gut gesehen werden. Das Loggen kann relativ ungestört erfolgen.
During our holidays at the Playa de Palma we realized that here in this region aren't many caches, although here are a lot of vacationers. Our hotel was situated in the middle of two hides, the one at the Aquarium 1,5 km away. This situation we wanted to change. Therefore we decided to place new caches.
This site - one of the most important accesses to the Playa and S' Arenal - was named after the hotelier Riu, who established the the Hotel San Franzisco in this area in 1953 developed together with son the today's well-known hotel group RIU. A sculpture on the square,which schows a waiter, can be seen well from the cache. Logging can be done relatively undisturbed.
