First of a short trail of six caches. Please park considerately along Ash Lane.
This is the first cache of a short trail taking you above the beautiful city of Wells with great views over the city and surrounding area. It is popular with dog walkers and climbers so some care is needed when searching for caches. The walk will take around an hour gentle ambling pace. Please take care as some paths can be slippery when wet and there is a low cliff face which is great for kids to climb with supervision. The position of this first cache provides a beautiful view over The Blue School and The Cathedral and City. We enjoyed setting this, our first trail, but please let us know of any problems or maintenance needed. From this cache walk back to cross Ash Lane and up the opposite footpath. This cache was replaced on 15th April 2018. Tweezers helpful! Cache replaced again, 15 th April, 2019.... Log book replaced 2.5.22 Happy hunting!
Cache checked on 30 th May 2023 and is still in position. Have added a photo and removed the throwdown. In view of the overgrown corner and the nettles I have increase the difficulty rating. Long sleeves and gloves definitely recommended. In line with geocaching guidelines please do not leave throwdowns for a dnf. I do maintain when necessary.
