This is the 2nd version of this cache as the orchard/quilt owners were concerned that people stopping to cache at the original location were actually people stopping to rob their orchard. The container has been moved to a new location and can now be “reclaimed” by anyone who grabbed the first version.

The Barn Quilt is a “drive-by” viewing about 1/4 mile north of the cache on the east side of Hy 42. The owner has requested that cachers DO NOT stop in the yard to look at the quilt, but you could pull off on the gravel shoulder to take a quick look.
The blue background of this quilt represents the proximity to nearby Lake Michigan. The stripes of colors in the diamonds represent the various fruits the Kielar family sells at their stand. The red and blue cross represents the religious orientation of the family.
The quilt is one of 45 placed in Door County between 2010-2012 as a joint project of the UW-Extension, 4-H members and leaders, FFA members and alumni, local quilt guild members and other volunteers.
The goals of the Door County Barn Quilt Project are:

Please tread lightly as you search out the caches. CITO and BYOP. Feel free to post pictures of the barn quilts, but please don’t give away the cache location or container.
