Geocache Description:

Do you have time to enjoy a walk on Woodtick?

This cache is hidden in honor of the original geocache on the Woodtick Peninsula, A Walk on Woodtick. If you click on the "Related Web Page" link above it will take you to the now archived cache. The original cache was a 4 stage multi but I have replaced it with a traditional cache to allow for a couple of other caches on the peninsula. I used to perform the maintenance on A Walk on Woodtick and always enjoyed my walks out here. You never know what you will see out here. For example, a couple of months ago I ran across this thing:

Here is a close up of the label:

Even though it is "self locating" I had the funniest feeling that the Coast Guard had no idea where this was located so I gave them a call.

The walk from the parking coords to the cache is approximately 3 miles. It will involve bushwhacking and possibly some wading depending on the time of year you attempt it and the weather on that day. The cache is intended to be a challenge to get to as well as a challenge to find once you are at ground zero. I could have hidden a regular size container out here, but I wanted to make it more difficult.

As long as you have walked this far, you may want to consider walking a little further to Journey to North Cape. I have walked from here to that cache before so it can be done. It will involve more bushwhacking and will definitely involve wading but you can walk to it from here. No matter how far you go, I hope you have an enjoyable walk!
