Geocache Description:

Tuesday 9th December just before 6pm.


The dictionary meaning of a flash mob is a group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, perform an unusual and seemingly pointless act for a brief time, before quickly dispersing.


So, let's gather in the general area of the monument (at the coordinates) before 6pm and DO NOT switch on your torches. At 6pm exactly we will flash our torches on and off two or three times to indicate you should switch your lights on to identify yourselves. You could use glowsticks or anything else which lights up. We shall all direct our lights at the hedge close to the monument for a few minutes and look very interested in the hedge!!! Then we will blow a whistle to say stop looking at the hedge, take a group photo or two and sign the logbook. At 6.15pm the torches must go out and we disperse away from the area. For those who wish to chat, we could go to a local bar or café until 7-7.30pm and then we will have to go and eat!

Flashmobs can be good fun and we do hope that we will be able to meet with some other cachers while on our holiday.

We are not familiar with the area (other than from Google Maps) and so we shall be quite happy to go to a café or bar chosen on the night to suit us all.

  • 17.55 - Arrive near GZ and do not light your torch
  • 18.00 - We will flash a light two or three times to tell you to switch on your own lights
  • 18.03 - We will blow a whistle to say "stop looking at the hedge" and sign the log book
  • 18.10 - We will take some group photos
  • 18.15 - We will turn off the lights and disperse to a nearby bar or café for a chat and to swap tbs!


If any local cachers are able to provide parking coordinates I will add them to the listing. We shall be staying in a hotel near to the event and we shall be on foot! Many thanks.
