Hanoosh: Hi

This cache has been flagged by Geocaching HQ as one that may need attention. I notice that no action has been taken by the owner to correct the issue. Could the owner please check this cache and give an indication of when it may be sorted out. If there is no response to this log after 30 days I will archive the cache. In the meantime I am disabling the cache.

Guidelines:

  • You are responsible for occasional visits to your cache to ensure it is in proper working order, especially when someone reports a problem with the cache (missing, damaged, wet, etc.) or posts a Needs Maintenance log. Temporarily disable your cache to let others know not to search for it until you have addressed the problem.

You are permitted a reasonable amount of time - generally, up to 4 weeks – in which to check on your cache. If a cache is not being maintained, or has been temporarily disabled for an unreasonable length of time, we may archive the listing.

Could the cache owner please place a note on the cache page so that other cachers and I can see what your intentions are.

If you no longer wish to maintain the cache then the listing should be archived.

Please DO NOT send an email about this cache in case I do not receive it. Posting a reviewer note will ensure your cache does not get archived in error.

Please note that the guidelines say that if a cache is archived by a reviewer or Geocaching HQ staff for lack of maintenance then it will not be unarchived. Here is the link to the relevant part of the guidelines Ownership after publication.

Regards

Geocache Description:

Village signs is a series of caches based on the ornate signs that depict the heritage, history and culture of the villages that put them up (normally on the village green!).

A micro tube.

Brampton is a village near Godmanchester south west of Huntingdon, in the Huntingdonshire non-metropolitan district of Cambridgeshire. It has a population over 5000.

Brampton has been variously known as: Brantune (11th century), Brantone, Bramptone (12th-13th century), Brauntone, Brampton (13th century)

Brampton has a long history and is mentioned in the Domesday Book: there was a church and priest at Brampton in 1086. The Church of St Mary Magdalene or St Mary the Virgin (as it was once called), consists of a chancel with a north vestry, nave, north aisle, south aisle, west tower and north and south porches. This church is mentioned in the Domesday survey of 1086, but, with the exception of a few parts dating from the 12th century, no part of the current structure is earlier than the 14th century.

The cache is near the village sign, but not on it. Please do not go climbing all over the sign!

If anybody would like to expand this series please do. I would just ask that you let SmokeyPugs know first so they can keep track of the Village Sign numbers and names to avoid duplication..
