Geocache Description:

At Rosh HaNikra, on the western-northern border of Israel and Lebanon you can see hyraxes sunning themselves on the chalk rocks.

Hyraxes retain a number of primitive mammalian characteristics; in particular, they have poorly developed internal temperature regulation, which they compensate for by behavioural thermoregulation, such as huddling together and basking in the sun.
These vicious looking marmots are often mistaken for rodents, but are more closely related to elephants! Typically, they measure between 30 and 70 cm (12 and 28 in) long and weigh between 2 and 5 kg (4.4 and 11 lb).
In honor of the hyrax this small cache was placed nearby. The box has place for TB's which are not too large. Enjoy!
