EddieBteA: Helaas zal deze cache geen comeback beleven omdat een nieuwe, door mij uitgezette, multi roet in het eten gooit. Waar ik al bang voor was zorgen de richtlijnen (of wetten?) ervoor dat er een hemelsbrede overlap ontstaat met tussenpunten van de multi.
Tijd voor iets nieuws dus einde voor Lloyd Hotel.

De cache is een verwijzing naar het naastgelegen Lloyd Hotel. Dit is een van de schitterende panden die in dit Oostelijk Havengebied zijn blijven staan tijdens de herinrichting eind 20ste eeuw. Eind 19de eeuw is hier het Oostelijk havengebied uitgebreid als gevolg van de aanleg van een spoorlijn en het Centraal Station. Alles ten behoeve van de handel met Indië. Begin 20e eeuw wordt hier ook het Lloyd Hotel gebouwd (1918) ten behoeve van de vele passgiersschepen die vertrekken naar het Oosten waaronder met name Nederlands-Indië. Na vervolgens in gebruik te zijn geweest als landverhuizershotel, vluchtelingenopvang, huis van bewaring, jeugdgevangenis en verzamelgebouw van kunstenaarsateliers, doet het tegenwoordig weer dienst als (design) hotel sinds 2004. Daarnaast is het sinds 2001 een rijksmonument.

This cache refers to the building next to it, the Lloyd Hotel. This is one of the magnificant buildings that remained in the Eastern Docklands during the reshaping at the end of the 20th century. At the end of the 19th century the Eastern Docklands expanded as a result of build of the Central Station and the railways. All in favor of the trade with the Indies. In the early 20the century the Lloyd Hotel was built (1918) to serve the passengers leaving for the far East under which the Dutch East Indies. It became a building to temporarily house immigrants, a prison and later was a collective building of artists' studios, but is now serving as a (design) hotel since 2004. It is an official national monument of the Netherlands since 2001.

N.b.: Het kan hier heel druk zijn, zeker in augustus tijdens SAIL (eens in de 5 jaar, 2015...). Cachen kan dan weleens onmogelijk zijn, sorry
