Our family likes to solve puzzles of all types.  Kenken (also sometimes known as Calcudoku or Mathdoku) is another type of puzzle like Sudoku, invented in 2004 by Japanese Math teacher Tetsuya Miyamoto.

Kenken Puzzle Rules

  • Each row and each column must contain the numbers 1 through 6 without repeating

  • The numbers within the heavily outlined boxes, called cages, must combine using the given math operation (in any order) to produce the target number in the top left corners.

  • Freebies:  Fill in single-box cages with the number in the top-left corner.
