Geocache Description:

A traditional cache at the Porquis Agricultural Hall.

My wife grew up in this area and I started coming to the north twenty-two years ago. I love it up here and have been to a number of events at this hall, which always makes me feel like a part of a community. My brother-in-law's wedding celebration, my Father-in-law's funeral dinner, and most recently my wife's Uncle's funeral dinner. I'm sure there are others that I have forgotten. It reminds me of a time that has been lost in larger cities where the community comes together with no agenda other than to be hospitable.

Originally know as Iroquois Junction, the name Porquis Junction was originally known as Porquois (from a combination of PORcupine and IroQUOIS )Junction but the o was eventually dropped.

My nephews like caching, and there were no caches close by, so I asked them if they'd like to hide one. They thought that sounded like fun, so we left the dinner for a few minutes and hid a micro container near the hall. The non-camouflaged micro cache is hidden on an antique piece of local history. It should be a reasonably easy find.

Good luck and have fun!
