"Eine Kleine HAGmusik" geoart celebrates the theme for this year's HAG XI event, which is "Music Music Music". Each cache features a song or an artist with "hag" in their name. It is not a power trail, but all of the final coordinates are within a 2 mile radius. All of the containers are placed in easily accessible locations, there is no need to bushwhack or cross any fences. If your GPS is pointing you onto private property, please double check the coordinates and use the hint. And have fun.
None of these caches are at their posted coordinates, see each "related web page" (link at top of this page above coordinates) for the correct coordinates. Video controls will appear if you hover.
Remember to write down the letter and number at the top of each log sheet, you will need them all for the final.
Merle Haggard knows all about hard living, uncertain love and workers ground down by depressing jobs. As one of country music’s greatest living singer-songwriters, he was an architect of the Bakersfield sound in the 1960s—an earthy, California-born style that was more firmly rooted in country’s traditions than the polished productions recorded in Nashville at the time.
"The Hag" as he is affectionately known, grew up in Bakersfield but soon ran afoul of the law in the 1950s, landing in prison after trying to rob a roadhouse. As an inmate at San Quentin, he was in the audience in 1958 when Johnny Cash performed there, convincing him to take his talents more seriously when he was released in 1960. Hits followed in the 1960s and ’70s that often pined for traditional values (“Okie from Muskogee”) but sometimes came with a populist twist.
This consummate showman delivers good old Country here with "Are the Good Times Really Over for Good?". As a driver of a Ram myself, I had to grin at his sly lyric rework at 3:36.
