Geocache Description:

After grabbing the Thorns at the Meadow, continue walk up rolling Meadow and find small cache! Not much bushwhacking!

Congrats to Bear61Ted and bowling guy for FTF and theodellfamily for STF.


This cache is located in the East Unit of Robert E. Ney Memorial Park Reserve, just north of Maple Lake, which consists of wide horse trails. It is not limited to just horse riding plus dog walking and hiking. During winter, the trails is open for cross country skiing.

There are some dedicated trails for snowmobiling only, please be alert and watch for snowmobiles during winter time. Its easy going on the trails, but this cache hide location on South side of the West Unit and expect camoed pill bottle!

The East unit is also home to three other older caches so if you have time and energy, you would be able to hiking up and down on the meadow for 2.2 miles round trip and grabs all five caches!

Take some time to explore the trails at the West unit of the park; I think you'll enjoy your time there!

ABOUT ROBERT E NEY PARK

Free parking is available at park entrance and trailhead, at N 45° 16.006 W 093° 59.023.

The park is home to the Wright County Parks Environmental Education Nature Center, and features 9 miles of ski/hike trails, a chapel, horse trails, a picnic area, and a public boat launch. A combination of meadow and forest occupies 846 acres and provides varied wildlife habitat.

For winter, Ski and snowshoe rental is available on Saturdays and Sundays during the hours of noon- 4 pm (January through mid-March) at the Nature Center.  

For hunting season, Wright County Parks recommend to wear bright orange for safety purpose.
