Geocache Description:

The New England Revolution, a team that has brought me much joy over the past 19 years. The Revs were introduced along with the MLS itself in 1996. My dad used to take the Unbearded Beast down to the old Foxboro Stadium to watch their games. The first couple years were rough, but it was just fun to have a professional soccer team so close to home.

2002 had to be my favorite season. It was the opening of Gillette Stadium which was exciting in itself, and the MLS had announced that the MLS Cup that year would be hosted in Foxboro's brand new stadium. The Revs made a run to the final, which I therefore ended up going to. The atmosphere was insane, with 61,316 fans giving New England home-field advantage in what normally would be a neutral-site game. The match was intense from start to the eventual finish, a golden goal put away by the Los Angeles Galaxy's Carlos Ruiz in extra time.

And now here we are in 2014, the Revs having lost an additional three MLS Cups, but on the run at the moment in the playoffs as the #2 seed in the Eastern Conference. Over the summer the team signed US international Jermaine Jones which brought a star-quality player to the squad and a lot of excitement amongst Revs fans.

Below you'll find some New England Revolution players from over the years, they will all lead you to this cache.

I felt like it was appropriate to include Jay Heaps twice since he was both a player and is the current head coach for the team. I must warn you, there will be no hint from me on this one. Good luck and happy caching!
