Geocache Description:

I was out walking the other day, just poking around trying to find the next neat place for a geocache when I ran across something very odd. Hidden just out the way, was a large hole that begged to be inspected. Curious and since I had my GPS with me, I decided to tie it to a rope and give it a toss.

The hole was had a peculiarity about it. There was an odd mist swirled within it and with the darkness there, it gave off a very odd feeling. Standing at the opening, I heaved the GPS as far as I could and felt it pulling away from me, like the hole had its own gravity. In a blink of an eye, it was gone and the taughtness of the rope I had tied to to the GPS went slack and I swear I heard a sound in the distance that sounded a lot like a splash. Reeling it back towards me, the whole sequence repeated itself until I had it back in hand. Weird, , I found it had set a Waypoint when out of sight. Even stranger was the GPS appeared to be frozen- stuck at the Waypoint that had been marked. Turning it off, removing the batteries, nothing would dim the screen and the erase those marked coordinates. It was useless now not to mention it was wet and smelled of the ocean. Where did the GPS go, did I run into a wormhole or some Tunnel thru the Earth? Without any this else to do I plopped in those Waypoint coordinates into Google to see where they were, only to see that they are in the middle of the Indian Ocean. What had happened?

Stupid GPS is still broken so after finding the perfect spot, I can't mark the cache location. After a little investigating, I did find out that using math or used some kind of a online shortcut tool, I could figure out what the coordinates on this side of the antipode actually are.

You figure out where the West Waypoint was, you should be able to find where I put the cache container.

Oh, I while I was searching the Internet I found that it was a good thing that I didn't go in after the GPS. It turns out if I was to fall through the earth like the GPS did, it was take me approximately 42 minutes to make the trip. Halfway to the center, I'd hit 15,000 mph; 21 minutes after jumping in, I'd blow past the center at 18,000 mph. Another 21 minutes later, with gravity slowing me as I went, I'd reach the far side and stop briefly in midair. Unless someone (a Morlock?) caught me, I'd then head back the way I came and start all over again like a big yo-yo stuck in a process called harmonic motion. This didn't have anything to do with figuring out the cache location, I just found it interesting.
